Welcome, welcome to the very first post at the Unique Yarns blog! I know it seems like everyone and their mother has a blog these days, but what better way to keep you all up-to-date with the daily happenings at everyone's favorite yarn store? I'll do my best to keep you in the know when new fiber or books arrive, class schedule reminders or changes, trunk shows, sales, closings....you get the idea.
The big news from last week was the filming of our commercial! I know the picture isn't great, but you can see the camera man filming some lovely knitters relaxing in the rocking chairs. A big thanks to everyone that came out to fill the store with shoppers, especially on such a snowy day. I'll keep you posted on when to expect it to air.
Have you seen the baskets of color coordinated yarn on the table near the books? Each week Cindy, who has the most amazing eye for color, will assemble a collection of yarns that will work together to create a fabulous scarf or sweater or bag. The possibilities are endless!
Just look at this mix of spring greens. (You can click on any picture to see it larger.) Wouldn't it make up into a wonderful bag?
And these luscious lavenders? I tell you, the girl has a gift. While Cindy can always be counted on to come up with unexpected color combinations, all of the staff are happy to help you make color and yarn decisions for any project you have in mind!
Tomorrow we'll talk about classes and Cold Water Bundles!
Wait! One more thing; if you have any questions or comments about what you read in this blog, or the shop in general, feel free to leave a comment below. I'll get back to you as soon as I'm able.
Happy Knitting (or crocheting, or weaving, or spinning....),

Becky, Holly, and the fellow Unique Yarns, Inc. Ladies:
OMG! A commercial...how COOL is that?! I don't think I've ever seen a commercial spot for a yarn store. That'll be fantastic to see.
The various yarn colors that Cindy picked out, like the greens, sure has me wanting crisp, juicy green apples, asian pears, kiwi, etc. Great colors!
I think I am putting the first comment on this new Unique Yarns, Inc. Blog = Hurray! :D
Got Yarn?
